Create a shipping order
The two-step new-order wizard — pick the transport mode, then fill in general information, parties, and routing with aggregate cargo totals.
A shipping order captures what a customer wants moved before it becomes a shipment. Create one with New Order on the Shipping Orders list. The form is a two-step wizard headed Create Shipping Order.
Step 1 — Select the transport mode
Choose one of the four mode cards — Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Ground Transport, or Multimodal — then select Continue. (Use Change later to switch modes.)
Step 2 — Fill in the order
The detail form has three tabs; a tab shows an error dot when a required field is missing, and a failed save jumps to the first tab with an error.
- General Information — the chosen Mode (read-only), Operation Type (Import, Export, Domestic, or Cross Trade), Service Type, and Currency. Under Cargo, enter the aggregate totals — Pieces, Gross Weight (kg), and Volume (CBM). Under Notes, add Remarks and Special Instructions.
- Parties — Customer, Shipper, Consignee, Notify Party, and Agent. Each has a quick-add (the +) to create an account inline if it does not exist yet.
- Routing — Origin Port, Destination Port, Cargo Ready Date, Requested Pickup, and Requested Delivery.
Select Create Shipping Order to save. The order opens with a number like SO000001.
Cargo is entered as totals here
This wizard records cargo only as aggregate pieces, weight, and volume — there are no commodity line items in the create form. Add individual commodities afterward on the order's Commodities tab (for example with Add from Inventory to pull in received warehouse goods).
