Create or edit a rate card

Build a rate card with the three-step wizard — lane and carrier, pricing, then review and submit for approval.

A rate card is the buy-side pricing your quotes match against. Build one by hand with the three-step wizard — or edit an existing one the same way. Rates you extracted from a document become cards automatically; this is the manual path.

Steps

  1. Open Rate Intelligence → Rate Cards and select Add Rate Card (this opens the Create Rate Card wizard). To edit, open a card and choose edit — the wizard opens in Edit Rate Card mode with the card's values loaded.
  2. Step 1 — Lane & Carrier. Set the Name, Carrier, and optional Contract; the Mode (Ocean, Air, Ground, Multimodal) and Incoterms; the Origin Port and Destination Port; and the Valid From / Valid To window. Select Next.
  3. Step 2 — Pricing. Set the Default Currency and optional Default Markup %, plus free time at origin and destination, and any internal Notes. Select Next.
  4. Step 3 — Surcharges & Approval. Review everything on one screen.
  5. Finish:
    • Save Draft — saves without submitting, so you can come back later.
    • Create & Submit (or Save & Submit when editing) — creates the card and sends it for approval.

Result

The card is created and, if you submitted, moves to Pending Approval for a colleague to sign off — see Approve or reject a rate card. Once Active, its rates surface on quotes via Apply a suggested rate to a quote.

Tips

  • The wizard covers the lane, validity, and default pricing only. Rate lines (per-charge-code rows), Surcharges, and Scope are managed from their tabs on the rate card detail page after the card exists.
  • Fix anything the wizard flags ("Missing or invalid: …") before it will save.
