Manage a rate card

The rate-card detail workbench — seven tabs to edit the card, its rate lines, surcharges, and scope, plus duplicate, archive, approve, and reject from the header.

Once a rate card exists, opening it takes you to its detail page — the full management workbench at /rate-intelligence/rate-cards/[id]. The three-step wizard covers the lane and default pricing; everything else — the per-charge rate lines, the surcharges, and who the card prices for — lives here, spread across seven tabs.

Open a rate card

Open Rate Intelligence → Rate Cards and select any card in the list. The header shows the lane and a status pill (Draft, Pending Approval, Active, Archived...).

When a card can't be edited — it was AI-created, or it's in a status that locks it — a Read-only — Duplicate to edit badge sits in the header and the edit controls stay hidden.

Header actions

  • Duplicate — copies the card into a fresh Draft you can change freely. This is how you amend an Active or AI-created card without touching the original.
  • The ⋮ (more actions) menu holds Submit for Approval, Approve, Reject, and Archive. Archive opens an Archive Rate Card confirmation — an archived card stops matching quotes but is kept for audit.
  • While a card is Pending Approval, Approve and Reject also appear as buttons in the header. Reject opens a Reject Rate Card dialog where you type a reason before the card drops back to Draft. See Approve or reject a rate card for who is allowed to sign off.

The seven tabs

The tab bar runs Overview, Rate Lines, Surcharges, Scope, History, Documents, and Audit.

Overview

Three summary cards — Basic Information, Validity & Status, and a financial summary. Each editable card has a pencil in its corner: select it to edit in place, then Save (the check) or Cancel (the ✕) to back out. The bottom of the tab shows a snapshot of the card's rate lines.

Rate Lines

The per-charge-code rows that build the price. Select Add Rate Line to add one, the pencil on a row to edit it, or the trash icon to remove it — deleting opens a Delete rate line confirmation first. Put the primary freight charge first, surcharges after.

Surcharges

Bind reusable surcharges to the card. Bind opens the Bind surcharge dialog; the trash icon on a binding removes (unbinds) it.

Scope

Controls who the card prices for. Choose a scope type — all customers, all vendors, or a specific customer or vendor — and select the add button to attach it; Remove scope (the trash icon) detaches one.

History, Documents, and Audit — not populated yet

These three tabs are placeholders today. History will list status changes, edits, and approvals; Documents will hold source PDFs and exports; Audit will show the immutable audit log. For now each just says its content will appear here — there is nothing to act on.
