Shipments
Edit a shipment
The five-tab shipment edit form — General, Entities, Routing, Customs, and Commercial — and how to save your changes.
To change a shipment's data, open it and select Edit (from the list row menu or the detail page). The edit form is headed Edit followed by the shipment number, and organizes every field into five tabs. When you are done, select Update Shipment — it returns you to the shipment. Some fields on the Customs and Commercial tabs are English-only today.
The five tabs
- General — the core classification and reference numbers: Transport Mode, Operation Type, Shipment Type, Shipment Class, Master Shipment, Freight Terms, plus the mode-specific block (MAWB/HAWB and airline/flight for air; MBL/HBL, ocean carrier, vessel, and voyage for ocean; PRO number, trucker, and BOL for ground). It also holds document-tracking dates (arrival notice, GOC, SOC letter) and the customer-visible Remarks and Internal Notes.
- Entities — the parties: Shipper, Consignee, Notify Party, Origin Agent, and Destination Agent.
- Routing — Origin Port, Place of Receipt, ETD, ATD, Destination Port, Place of Delivery, ETA, ATA, and the rail / cargo-movement dates.
- Customs — clearance data: Customs Entry Number, In-Bond Number, FIRMS Code, AES ITN, ISF Filing Date, the 7501 dates, Customs Release Date, and pickup/delivery dates.
- Commercial — PO Number, Customer Reference, Incoterm, Service Level, and Special Instructions.
A tab shows a small error dot when one of its fields is invalid; a failed save jumps to the first tab with an error, so nothing is lost.
Good to know
- The status pill next to the heading is read-only here — advance status from the Shipment Status timeline on the detail page instead (see the shipments reference).
- Cancel with Cancel to leave without saving.
