Shipments → Ocean Freight opens the shipments list scoped to ocean. The page becomes Ocean Shipments ("Showing ocean freight shipments.") with the scoped total next to the title and a View All button back to the unfiltered list.

The shipments list scoped to ocean — the Ocean Shipments view with ocean moves only, the MAWB/MBL column showing the MBL, and ocean-only summary cards

What the mode scope changes

  • Only ocean moves are listed, and the summary cards compute over ocean only.
  • New Shipment starts the form with mode Ocean preselected.
  • The Mode picker disappears from the advanced filter modal — the page is already scoped.
  • Everything else — toolbar, direction tabs, views, bulk bar, columns — matches All Shipments.

Ocean-specific fields

  • The MAWB / MBL column (its header never changes) shows the MBL — the Master Bill of Lading. A house's own reference is its HBL; in Cards view the number under the shipment number is the HBL (or the MBL for a master).
  • The detail's identifier strip shows MBL/HBL; the Legs tab carries the containers, and the Tracking tab shows container events for ocean moves.
  • An MBL is required for an ocean master, an HBL for each house — see consolidating houses under a master.
  • Ocean imports to the US need an ISF filing — follow Complete an ISF for an ocean import.

Even at sea, quotes and charges can use chargeable weight concepts alongside CBM — see Master, house & chargeable weight.
