Import accounts from CSV

The five-step Import Accounts wizard — upload a CSV, map columns, set duplicate and default rules, preview, and run the background import.

Import Accounts (/accounts/import, reached from Import on the All Accounts header) loads customers, vendors, carriers and other accounts from a spreadsheet: "Import customers, vendors, carriers and other accounts from a CSV file." A stepper runs across the top — Upload File, Map Fields, Options, Preview, Complete — and Back to Accounts leaves at any point.

1. Upload File

Use Download CSV template for the exact columns Linbis expects, then Drag & drop a CSV file, or click to browse ("Only .csv files are supported"). Linbis reports the row and column count. The import is capped — over the limit, only the first rows are previewed and imported, so split a large file.

2. Map Fields

"Match each spreadsheet column to a Linbis account field. Account Name is required." Each column shows a Sample Value and a Maps to Field dropdown; Auto-map columns matches by name. Choose — Ignore this column — to drop one. If two columns share a header, Linbis warns you to rename them before continuing (matching headers get merged and one column's data is lost).

3. Options

  • Detect duplicates by — Tax ID or Email, Tax ID only, Email only, Account Name, or Don't check (create all).
  • Skip rows that match an existing account — on by default; turn it off to import branches that legitimately share a Tax ID or inbox.
  • Default type (when the Type column is blank) and Default status.

4. Preview

Preview validates the rows and tallies Total rows, Will create, Will skip, Duplicates, and Invalid. Each row shows a status pill — OK, WARN, or BLOCKED — with the reason. Import N account(s) starts the run.

5. Complete

The import runs in the background — "you can leave this page and the import will finish." When it settles you see Created, Skipped, and Failed counts with a per-row result, then Go to Accounts.
