Work an opportunity

The opportunity detail page — changing stage, marking a deal lost with a reason, reverting, and reading linked quotes, tasks, and stage history.

Opening a card on the Opportunities pipeline lands on its detail page — the deal title with a stage pill, the linked account, and the owner. Back to pipeline returns to the board.

Change stage

The Stage dropdown moves the deal between Lead, Qualified, Proposal, Negotiation, Won, and Lost. (Stale is system-managed and never offered.) Picking a stage updates the probability and records the move in the stage history.

Mark as Lost

Choosing Lost opens the Mark as Lost dialog — "Record why this deal was lost. This is kept in the stage history." Pick a Loss reason (required — Price, Service, Competitor, Timing, Budget, No response, Internal decision, Other), optionally name the Competitor ("Who won the business?") and add Notes, then confirm with Mark as Lost. A lost deal then banners the reason at the top — for example "Lost — Price", or "Lost — Price (to a named competitor)".

Revert

The Revert control (top right) undoes a close and returns the opportunity to an open stage — useful when a Won or Lost deal was set by mistake. It warns first if shipments are already linked.

What the page shows

  • Four tiles — Estimated revenue, Probability, Weighted value, and Expected close (or Actual close once closed).
  • Linked Quotes — each quote number, its status, and sell total (links through to the quote).
  • Open Tasks — a read-only summary; manage tasks on the account's Sales tab or My Tasks.
  • Stage History — every stage change, who made it, and when.
  • Linked shipments for the opportunity.
