Create a shipment or release from a receipt
Turn a receipt's on-hand cargo straight into a new shipment or a cargo release, or clone the receipt, from the receipt detail header.
Once a receipt has cargo on hand, its detail header gives you three shortcuts β Create Shipment, Create Release, and Clone Receipt β so you do not have to rebuild the cargo somewhere else. These buttons act on the receipt's movable cargo (pieces still in inventory). They are English-only today.
Create a shipment from the cargo
- On the receipt, select Create Shipment. The Create Shipment from Inventory dialog opens and shows how many units and pieces will be assigned.
- Choose the Mode (Ocean, Air, Ground), Direction (Export, Import), and Class (Direct, Master, House), then the Origin Port and Destination Port.
- Select Create & Assign. Linbis creates the shipment, moves the cargo onto it (containers carry their contents), and opens the new shipment β for Ocean it also drafts the Ocean Freight charge. See the shipments reference.
Create a release from the cargo
- Select Create Release. The Create Release from Inventory dialog shows the units and pieces to be released.
- Choose the Consignee and select Create Release. The new release opens, ready to move through the release flow.
A receipt on Customs Hold blocks this button until the hold is cleared β creating a shipment stays allowed, only the release is held.
Clone a receipt
Select Clone Receipt to duplicate the receipt in Received status. Every commodity is copied
with its received pieces reset to 0, and a fresh WR###### number is assigned β useful for a
repeat inbound from the same shipper. Cloning is blocked once a receipt is Cancelled.
