Leg Templates

Reusable leg patterns for bulk-creating shipment legs — create a tenant template, duplicate a system one to customize, and edit or delete your own.

Leg templates (/settings/leg-templates) are "Reusable leg patterns for bulk-creating shipment legs" — a saved set of leg stubs (a mode and leg type each) that you apply when building a shipment's routing so you don't rebuild common patterns by hand.

Create or customize a template

  • New template opens the editor: a Name (English) (for example "EU inland import (rail + drayage)"), a Shipment pattern (Single-leg ocean import, Hinterland import, US inland rail, Cross-border drayage, Project cargo, Custom multi-leg, and more), and Default legs (JSON) — an array of leg stubs where "Each stub must carry mode and legType at minimum." Choose Save.
  • Customize copy appears on system templates: it forks the system pattern into an editable tenant template.

Manage templates

The table shows each template's Name, Pattern, Scope, Legs, and last Updated. A scope badge marks each as System or Tenant:

  • System rows offer Customize copy only (they are read-only).
  • Tenant rows offer Duplicate, Edit, and Delete. Deleting confirms "This cannot be undone. Shipments already created from this template are not affected."

An empty catalog invites you to "Create a tenant template, or duplicate a system template to customize."
