Payment Terms

Define the payment terms (Net 30, COD, Prepaid, …) available on quotes and accounts — seed the common set or add your own, then edit, deactivate, or delete them.

Payment Terms (/settings/payment-terms) manages the terms that appear "in the Payment Term picker on quotes and accounts" — "Net 30, COD, Prepaid, …". Start from the common set or build your own.

Add payment terms

Two buttons seed the catalog:

  • Add common terms creates the starter set in one click ("Added N terms" or "All common terms already exist — nothing to add").
  • Add payment term opens an editor with three fields: a short Code (for example NET30), a Name (Net 30), and Days — "the number of days until payment is due (0 for immediate — COD, Prepaid, Due on Receipt)." Choose Save.

An empty catalog explains this and offers both buttons.

Manage the catalog

The table lists each term's Code, Name, Days, and an Active switch, with Edit and Delete per row:

  • The Active toggle activates or deactivates a term without deleting it.
  • Edit reopens the editor to change the code, name, or days.
  • Delete permanently removes a term — but only when it is unused. A term already applied to records shows an In use badge and a disabled Delete with the tip "This term is used by existing records. Deactivate it instead."
