Cost Accruals
The Cost Accruals register — accrued costs from shipments and orders, with reverse, match-to-bill, and void actions.
Accounting → General Ledger → Cost Accruals opens the Cost Accruals register ("Manage cost accruals, auto-reversals, and vendor bill matching"). Its main card, the Accrual Register, is where accrued costs — expenses recognized before the vendor bill arrives — are tracked, reversed, and matched to the eventual bill.
Summary and columns
Cards across the top total Total Accruals, Draft, Posted, Outstanding, and Total Amount. Each accrual is a row: Reference, Source, Vendor, Description, Amount, Accrual Date, and Status.
Filters
- Search accruals… — free-text search.
- Status — All Status, Draft, Posted, Partially Reversed, Fully Reversed, or Matched.
- Source — All Sources, Shipment, Shipping Order, Quote, or Manual — the document the accrual came from. Most accruals are raised automatically from these sources.
Row actions
Open a row's Actions menu:
- Match to Bill — on a Posted or Partially Reversed accrual; jumps to Bills pre-filtered so you can settle the accrual against the real vendor bill.
- Reverse — on a Posted or Partially Reversed accrual; writes a reversing journal entry (a toast confirms "The accrual has been reversed").
- Void — on a Draft accrual (toast: "The accrual has been voided").
Current state
Some header controls are still being built out. Run Auto-Reverse opens a Run Auto-Reversal dialog ("This will reverse all accruals that have an auto-reverse date on or before today"), but it currently requires an accounting period that is not yet wired in, so it prompts to select one and does not post. New Accrual, Export, and the per-row View Details are present but not yet functional — accruals today are generated from their source documents rather than entered by hand.
