Balance Sheet

The Balance Sheet report — Assets, Liabilities, and Equity as of a date, with a balanced check.

Verified: Jul 21, 2026 1 min read Accounting

Accounting → Reports → Balance Sheet opens the Financial Reports page on its Balance Sheet tab ("Assets, Liabilities, and Equity as of a specific date"). It is the snapshot of what the company owns, owes, and is worth on one day.

Filter

  • As of Date — the cutoff. Balances are calculated through this day.

Sections

The report is grouped into three headings — Assets, Liabilities, and Equity — each a table with Account and Balance columns. A subtotal closes each group: Total Assets, Total Liabilities, and Total Equity, followed by Total Liabilities + Equity at the bottom. When a group has nothing to show it reads "No liabilities" or "No equity accounts".

Balance check

The accounting equation must hold: assets equal liabilities plus equity. When it does not, a red alert reads "Balance sheet is not balanced. Assets do not equal Liabilities + Equity." Trace the gap through Journal Entries. If there is no data for the chosen date the page shows "No balance sheet data available."

Actions

  • Refresh re-runs the report for the current As of Date.
  • Export downloads it — the dropdown offers CSV, PDF, or Excel.
