GL Detail

The General Ledger Detail report — every transaction in one account over a date range, with a running balance.

Verified: Jul 21, 2026 1 min read Accounting

Accounting → Reports → GL Detail opens the Financial Reports page on its GL Detail tab. The report heading reads General Ledger Detail — "All transactions for a specific account within a date range" — the drill-down behind a single account's balance.

Filters

  • Account — pick the account to inspect ("Select an account"). Until you choose one the page prompts "Select an account to view its transaction detail." The account's number, name, and type are shown above the table once selected.
  • From and To — the date range to list.

Columns

Each posting to the account appears as a row: Date, Entry #, Memo, Source, Debit, Credit, and a running Balance. Long histories paginate — a "Showing … of … transactions" line and page controls sit below the table. When there is nothing in range the report reads "No transactions found for this account in the selected date range."

Actions

  • Refresh re-runs the report for the current account and date range.
  • Export downloads it as CSV, PDF, or Excel.

The Entry # ties each line back to its posting in Journal Entries.
